LOCATION
The
village of Fletching
is located close to Uckfield to the east,
Lewes to the South and
Haywards Heath
to
the west.
In
addition to the delights of Fletching there are many
other areas and facilities in the neighbourhood.
Sheffield
Park Estate has been mentioned, the grounds are now
owned by the National Trust
and have justly acquired the reputation as some of the
most beautiful in the country.
Also
close by is the famous Bluebell
Railway. Fletching
lies at the southern edge of the Ashdown Forest where one
can roam for miles in peace as well as experience
stupendous views from the hill tops.
Another place for the walker and naturalist is
Chailey Nature
Reserve. It
is good to know that, after a long walk or cycle, there
is somewhere to rest the weary body and recharge the
cells.
For
the golfer there is a choice of excellent courses
including East
Sussex National and Piltdown.
For
opera fans, Glyndebourne
is a short journey away.
Also
Fletching is an ideal rendezvous point between London and
the coast where friends can meet in convivial
surroundings.
