The Restaurant

The restaurant provides ample room for 30 diners.  All the food is home made using fresh produce.  Sunday lunches, fresh fish and a great selection of puddings are standard.  The menu   changes frequently to provide variety and to take advantage of seasonal items.  For details of our fare, including our carefully selected wine list, click here

The room is in the same Elizabethan style as the bar.  The chimney of the fireplace is reputed to have a secret priest hole, although this has never been discovered.  In the evenings the tables are candlelit.

Real ales are Harveys plus a selection guest beers including,  Speckled Hen, Youngs, Green King Abbot, Wells Bombardier,  Shepherd Neame, Tanglefoot, Wadworth 6X, Marston's Pedigree, Adnams, Theakston's Old Peculiar & Ruddles, among others.  Snacks are available and can be eaten either in the bar or in the secluded garden behind the pub.

The Bar

The smartly furnished main bar has original oak beams and a wealth of olde worlde charm.  You can sit and watch the flames in the log fire and allow your imagination to float back through the years to bygone days when the local countrymen stood around that same fireplace quaffing their ale and mulling over the day’s exploits.
